Searching Method:
- A search for exact name matches is performed. If an exact match is found, then records are returned and no other algorithms are used in the search.
- If the exact name match fails, then various algorithms are applied to the input name.
- Several algorithms are applied to the input name. A score is assigned based upon a composite of the algorithms.
- A proprietary scoring method evaluates the results of the algorithms and returns records if the score threshold is crossed.
- The input name is the only piece of input data used to search against the OFAC SDN list.
- Scores of 98+ are strong matches to the input name. Scores from 92-97 are only moderately strong matches. Any record returned by the search should be evaulated to determine whether an actual OFAC hit is probable.
- The ID is the unique identifier returned from the OFAC SDN list.
- The Program/Remarks field represents data returned from the OFAC SDN list. The field provides further information concerning the individual(s) returned.
